tire pressure
tire pressure is checked often enough.
About two-thirds of the vehicles are traveling on deep tire pressure. These results of an action by the Office beco Berner economy are in line with the experience of the Motor Trade Association of Switzerland AGVS. Optimum tire pressure increases safety, saves fuel and protects the air. The economy beco Berner recommends that tire pressure checked regularly and not only when changing tires.
It's time for winter tires. The economy beco Berner recommends to control the pressure of winter tires monthly. Pro Months, a tire loses about 0.1 bar pressure. A too low tire pressure is a security risk, the fuel consumption is higher and thus an unnecessarily large number of pollutants into the air. Especially in the winter with high air pollution and inversion layers, this is particularly harmful.
Many car drivers are not aware of. The economy has beco Bern in the spring - led by a tire-pressure action - after the change to summer tires. At 14 stations in the Canton of Bern, the Office controlled as part of its monthly tips air for three days free of the tire pressure. By the Motor Trade Association of Switzerland AGVS supported action should inform women drivers and motorists on how useful the optimum tire pressure is.
Of the 2,500 vehicles checked against 66 percent to a low tire pressure were on the road, in part, he was heavily under the recommended specifications. This finding is consistent with the experiences of the AGVS. It appears that the tire pressure monitoring is very neglected. By
check the tire pressure regularly, women drivers and motorists to take more responsibility for their own safety, save fuel and not a strain on the environment unnecessarily.

Giovanni Giacometti: color in the light
Kunstmuseum Bern
30th October 2009 - 21 February 2010
The Kunstmuseum Bern, in collaboration with the Graubünden Art Museum Chur, a retrospective of the painted works by Giovanni Giacometti. Of his paintings exude a powerful coloristic effect. His particular artistic stature is mediated by a precise selection of about a hundred works of outstanding quality.
The exhibition is Giovanni Giacometti (1868-1933) lighting. The light - whether bright light, dusky twilight or dark of night is brightened by the moon or artificial light sources such as lanterns and lamps - is in the works of this artist is always a constitutive element. In some letters he has addressed the central importance of light for his painting: he intended "in the nature of colored light to penetrate," and he said that "the fight for the light" simply was "the driving force" of his entire work. Giacometti tried to play the changing light conditions and the intensification of light and color effect he achieved by the juxtaposition of brush strokes or dots of pure, often complementary colors. His greatest ambition was convinced that "the painter do everything by the light."
In bright light bathed
Giacometti, his paintings captured again in great moods of the mountains
and created a work of great coloristic effect. He fascinates his bright light in the mountains and landscape panoramas from submerged Bergell and Maloja, where he had his summer workshops. Besides landscapes but also portraits of his family, the witness of a happy family life in Bergell, and admire him close to him.
painter of international standing
Giovanni Giacometti made a significant contribution to the renewal Swiss painting in the 20th Century. After studying in Munich and Paris then went back to Giovanni Giacometti 1891 Stampa Bergell, where he was on his incredible style. A long-standing friendship he formed with Cuno Amiet, whom he met in Munich, and his admiration was his early mentor Giovanni Segantini, a landscape painter of the mountains. Undeservedly, the artist stood in the shadow of his brilliant sculptor's son, Alberto. The exhibition shows that Giovanni Giacometti is undoubtedly one of the leading Swiss artists from Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Fauvism, the main innovation of the Modern included and further developed.
series of the great Swiss painter

in the center of Deimantas Narkevičius work is an examination of the past, the communist countries which he studied by using found footage and autobiographical narratives. His films are reflections on specific facts and historical oddities, mostly with indirect references to the experience of real socialism in Soviet Lithuania and other countries in the post-war Europe.
for his interest in history leads to Narkevičius biographical reasons. The upheavals associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall Lithuania shaped, left a vacuum of vision. The communist state existed for Narkevičius outside the Western concept of history as it was his stated goal of creating the new company, which - if this has been reached - would be forever. With the end of the Cold War the citizens of Lithuania have been returned in the historical consciousness, but lacked the vision. Narkevičius sees his search for a vision as a typical attempt of a post-communist society. are thrown together in unfamiliar territory have a future, by subjecting the Ruins of the past researches phenomena that had remained hidden behind the ideology.
Deimantas Narkevičius was born in 1964 in Utena, Lithuania and lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. International recognition came in 2001 as he learned his home country on the 49th Biennale of Venice represented. Despite his training in the classical medium of sculpture Narkevičius working in film and video and installations. Sculpture and architecture remained mainly in its connotation as a monument to a field of interest of the artist. The starting point The Head (2007) was Narkevičius' interest in the formal language of an ideologically committed art. examined free of its political significance Narkevičius the influence of thought and beliefs of a society to shape their development and landscaping. Accordingly, the film shows Energy Lithuania (2000), the architecture of a power station as an installation and manifestation industrial thinking and deals with the romance of this positivist ideology. The film Scena (2003), which was inspired by the modernist architecture of the Contemporary Art Center makes again the discrepancy between form and function clearly: although the building was designed as an exhibition pavilion, but the ambitious programming of the present staff of the CAC alienated the institution of its claim to a home for everyone ' be.
An abandoned missile base in Lithuania is the backdrop of the film The Dud Effect (2008), in which the potential launch Narkevičius recreates an R-14 missile. Although this weapon during the Cold War remained only a threat from both sides, the artist sees a need for education. The film had inspired him The War Game (1965) by the British filmmaker Peter Watkins, the collective concern of the Western world, given the possibility of a nuclear attack had on the subject. In the former Eastern bloc was, according Narkevičius feel too little of this fear and he sees the lack of interest in the work-based, which he catch up with the movie tries. Peter Watkins, who lived some time in Lithuania, was interviewed for the film of Narkevičius A Role of a Lifetime (2007). Opposite to Watkins' statements about the documentary combines Narkevičius the interview with images from an amusement park and an amateur film of the English seaside town of Brighton. The installation explores the relationship between representation and documentation, subjectivity and artistic responsibility. Also Legend coming true , the film that was shown at the 2001 Biennale, makes use of three levels of narration. The story of a Holocaust survivor of the Jewish ghetto of Vilnius is a romantic story the city of Vilnius and a Yiddish song combined.
But Narkevičius uses found footage material not just to question the representation content of film documentation per se. At the same time remember the pictures of the creations of an inspired painter.
