Benoît Pioulard - Précis (2006)
Thomas Meluch makes under his pseudonym Benoît Pioulard most rustic warm, soft and superbly converted music. Technically well without Genre somewhere between dream pop and singer / songwriter, but ever after retro-sounding Shoegaze or New York artsyfartsyness. Okay, is lifted something artistic and it already times, when his intense, almost narrative voice between all sorts of 'verblurrten' sounds loses floats, murmurs dies. The mood of 'Précis' is hard to describe, somewhere between fresh spring shallowness and November of depression. Sometimes the whole works like a surreal ticking clock that runs slow and you memories, one after the other, draws from the unconscious and his face holds. Practically a psychological effect, which stores the disk in your brain as something special. Therefore, the space in the decade list. I know the Plate certainly not by heart, maybe not so good as I could here pompous talk about them, but each time she still is finding its way into the playlist I'm banned if the truly unique aura. The album was released in 2006 on Kranky. Field Recordings can be formed from it and all sorts of sounds arriving with his voice and the instrumentation timid a symbiosis, in which only a pearl rise - Fits natural as ass on his face. Degree in this field is lifted off a rather fine line not to appear too abstract and Wayfarer sunglasses. 'Précis' is far from all of this. Oh, and with "Needle & Thread" has even crept a little classic on the disc - if that's not strip their espadrille ... stop listening to music.
